St Peter Mancroft, Norwich NR2 1QQ – 7pm
This concert is a celebration of Americana
An adventurous programme showcases virtuoso Sarah Williamson in Copland’s Clarinet Concerto. By turns hauntingly beautiful and jazz-inspired, this brilliant work will stand alongside other American treasures. This concerto will be paired with a premiere of Gershwin’s Three Preludes for Clarinet arranged especially for Sarah by Benjamin Pope.
In a change to the advertised programme, this concert will now begin with the stunningly atmospheric Musica Celestis for strings by Aaron J Kernis.
The AST will welcome Philip Ellis to conduct this programme which will conclude with Weill’s challenging Symphony No 2, full of vitality and excitement.
